The Official Wedding Planner

So, it was a successful engagement event held last Saturday.  Despite am not feeling well that day, I still managed to make sure everything's ok!

Less talk, pictures time!

Gifts from my future BIL to my sister
Gifts from my sister to his fiancee
The engagement discussion was conducted in Kadazan language which I guess all the youngsters including myself didn't understand at all hah... This is because many of the guests from the guy side are mostly orang - orang veteran, so we as the tuan rumah welcomed them in a tradition way through language.  Something different from mine last time ^_^

The theme was red and silver , the couples and US :)
Overall, we love the venue, food, cakes (yes so deli!) and so on.  The restaurant staffs' also were very cooperative! (I like this!)

To C & P, congrats once again! Like you said 'The first day of the rest of our lives' awww...

And yes, am the official wedding planner ^_^

The Family Reunion Dinner @ CNY's eve

I always looking forward for a long holiday and over excited about it even though it's two (2) days before? This is one habit that I cannot avoid k :)

Yam Pork
Talking about holidays, this year CNY celebration is unforgettable.  The family reunion, food, laughter and poker games equal to everything and I wanna be part of it through out my years of living!

As usual, we went  to my house earlier to help my mom do the set up.  And lotsa food was served during the family reunion and as mentioned, I did eat two (2) plates of rice k and no judgement here LOL!

My choc cheese cake, gonna bake again this soon

Steamed chicken it's a must for my dad and not to forget my mom's signature dish plus others.  And yeay for me coz my first time baking choc cheese cake was a success and everyone loved it!

And starting this year, me and hubby giving out angpows to both parents and siblings. To our surprise, my dad and mom also gave us angpows and the quantity? Not bad, can go shopping hahaha, thanks dad and mom!
Before we headed home, we played poker games called kuah merah (to win you have to pair up your cards) and sadly I lost this year huhuhu.
Anyways, we did enjoy ourselves and our enjoyment is shared with the people we love!

Ushering the Year of Dragon 2012

Tung Tung Tung Chang!

Yeap, that's my version of lion dance!  And, it's about two (2) days before we celebrating Chinese New Year (CNY).  As usual, me and hubby will go home for makan malam with my family.  Also, this year mom has ordered extra kilos for babs (pork) for her signature dish Yam Pork or Q-Nyuk, yeay!  Sounds yummmey and I can't wait.  Definitely, two (2) plates of rice coming up hehehe

This CNY, I didn't buy any new clothes or shoes, just wear anything red and convenient ler and we are not going to Pasar Malam tomorrow.  With the heavy traffic, I think I better stay at home to make my CNY's desserts.  Yes, it will be butter and cheese cake, double yummmey!

Wish you all Gong Xi Fa Cai and Happy Holidays!  May the year of Dragon will bring more luck and good health to everyone! :)  Enjoice!

The Buffday Dinners

T.G.I.F !!!

This month was a seafood galore for us!

After experiencing bad moment at one particular shop at Seri Selera, Kampung Air, we terus decided not to eat seafood at first! Imagine, I was waiting about 25 minutes to make our order and the captains just acted like super duper busy and even asked me to wait kunun and when tourists came they just ignored me and served the tourists.  Darn them!  We will not going there again!

So, hubby missed eating the siput tarik or tung fung because of the incident.  But, I have suggested to hubby to celebrate his last Tuesday buffday by dining at the Welcome Seafood Restaurant, Asia City.  Plus, my parents in law went back to Tambunan for urgent matter and will be only celebrating hubby's buffday on the next day.

First time went there, first impression; to many people thus tiada seats.  Waited for 10 minutes and one of the captains managed to find us seats.  Happy faces and these what we ordered :)

Hubby's fave: Siput Tarik or Tung Fung - Steamed
Price per kg: RM 20.00

Wifey's fave: Crab - Sweet & Sour style
Price per kg: RM 18.00

Plum Sauce Chicken - Buli tahan oso but a bit sweet
Price per plate: RM 10.00

Kangkung Belacan
Price per plate: RM 8.00
Both's fave: Fresh Prawn - Steamed
Price per kg: Rm 60.00
With 3 bowls of rice, Chinese tea ping and Coke, the total amount is RM 81.00.  Reasonable right?  This will be our seafood spot now said the hubby :)

The next day, we went for the belated buffday dinner with the family at the same shop hehehe and yes everyone satisfied!

Did I mention seafood galore?  Last Sunday, we had dinner my family at Golden Seafood Restaurant, Tanjung Aru - Kepayan for my lil' bro buffday and the next day we also ate seafood for the late dinner.  Nah, too much cholesterol already in our body and it's detox time bebeh!

How I celebrate my C.N.Y?

How time flies!!! Now, my C.N.Y holidays ended...hmmph!!! Plus this year, I didn't take extended leave because I wanna save up for something good :)  So, here I am at office, working or mybe not lol!.  According to my dear friend Wyne  (thru Chinese horoscope) tomorrow is the best day to start working or open business, which is true, so guys, chillax!

Ok, here's some story borry about my C.N.Y celebration with my family.  As we all know, first day of C.N.Y, sweeping floor, throwing rubbish and cleaning house are forbidden.  So, the dad and the children excluded the chef (my mum) working very extra hard to clean the house on the C.N.Y's eve hehehe...  It took 4 hours to finish everything and then we helped the chef...preparing time!!!
Before start dinner, appertiser dulu
Foodie time, all cooked by our mum :) except the Bulla Yogurt Ice Cream 98% Fat Free super fruity yummy!

Foodie!
See the pix above? I did it myself, after been given tutorial by dearest.  Wah, I am so excited to do my next pix/project touch up using Adobe Photoshop and this stage am still a newbie but will learn slowly with lotsa practice wooohooo!

Back to C.N.Y story, after dinner, ang pow presentation lor...
Next year, will be my turn :)
Then, we played cards kuah merah and yours truly won the game by collected untung RM 15.00 jer :)  The next day, we celebrated our first day of C.N.Y with no water, main pipe burst out and the whole housing area affected.  And there was no sign or sound of lion dance till the 3rd day!!!

So, how's your day?  Enjoying yourselves? Got lotsa angpow?

Can't wait for the clock to strike 1.00pm.  Then, dearest will send me home and I will help my mum to prepare big and delicious feast for tonite family's dinner.  I foresee there will be more than 6 dishes lah including our family fave 'The Yam Pork' dish.  This is a MUST dish in our C.N.Y family dinner and trust me, it is super duper saddaaappp! My mum always try to teach me how to cook this dish but I also always refuse sebab byk kerja ni hehehe... and now I decided to learn, nantilah tunggu lepas C.N.Y lol

And yesterday, I received my first angpow for this year and it's a gift from our office :)
Red Packet from Alliance Bank
All of us in the office were given this; Gift Vouchers from Servay worth RM 150.00, so I guess everyone is happy :)
Shopping time!
Tonight, we'll be saying good bye to year of tiger and hallo to year of RABBIT.
I wanna wish Gong Xi Fa Cai and Happy Holidays to all.

Countdown to CNY - Jalan Jalan at Star City

Dong Dong Chiang !!!

Ok, this will be my first post and countdown to Chinese New Year celebration, believe it or not it's 12 days till CNY yeay...!

Me and dearest went out during our long lunch hours to Asia City (by foot from Sinsuran) to pay my life insurance at eTiQa .  Lucky for us only 2 people was in the queue, if not, usually I have to wait approximately 1 hour just to pay the bills. Then, both of us went to Mode Cafe, Star City to have our E-anniversary luncheon, we like this place because ada aircond supply kekeke!

Finished eating, deary asked me whether I want to jalan - jalan around the area, am ok with the plan plus we seldom go this place.  Nothing much to see and buy actually, all the shops pun yang besa-besa but they have Lewre and G2000 lah. We headed straight to the main foyer and saw lotsa CNY stuffs kena jual.  I bought my fave Cherry Blossom for the house, tanglung no needlah this year but bunga ok lol!
Cherry Cherry Pinkish Bom Bom!
Other than the flower, what attracted us was the special tanglung.  Comes in different sizes, colors and designs. This tanglung is made of silk or cloth. Was amazed!  Price range is between RM 80.00 to RM 200.00.  All tanglungs are sold in pair.  Talked to the salesgirls, if you purchased more, they can give you good discount.
Aren't they pretty?
Silk made tanglung
Actually, all the above tanglung are products of Vietnam which we occasionally have in KK (if you ever went to City Mall to check out the previous Vietnam's exhibition, you will see this product).  And not to forget the traditional one;
Red tanglungs; traditional way of CNY decor
Other CNY decor waiting to be grabbed!
Last but not least; the goyang - goyang gold stuffs with lights inside, price range RM 75.00 to RM 88.00
Cute lil' things!
Our usual activities when CNY is going to Pasar Malam, CNY's eve dinner, waiting lion dancers to visit the house and presentation of angpow from old generation to young generation like us hehehe (except yang married lah

Can't wait and hope this year of Rabbit brings luck and luck and luck!

Have a pleasant weekend everyone! :)
