I've been collecting a lot of this recipe since I started my baking life. The process more or less are the same. Last Saturday, I can't help myself to resist the urge of baking so I made my second cheesecake with Oreo cookies :)
First time using this recipe by Baking Mum and originally by Kraft and I modified the recipe a bit
Recipe:
01. 1 cup crushed Oreo Double Stuff (remove the cream inside)
02. 50gm melted butter
Combine the crumbs and butter and press into a line 23cm springform pan and chill
03. 500gm cream cheese (this time I used Philadelphia), in room's temperature
04. 70gm castor sugar
05. 3 teaspoons of gelatine, dissolved in 60ml boiling water
06. 2 tablespoons of lemon juice (usually I use Lazy Lime brand)
07. 250ml whipping cream (Anchor), lightly whipped
08. 50gm Oreo Double Stuff, roughly chopped
Beat the cream cheese and sugar till silky smooth. Fold in the gelatine mixture, lemon juice, whipping cream and roughly chopped Oreo cookies. To make the cake more delicious, add in the left over cookies' cream into the mixture. Pour the mixture into the chilled and prepared crust and chill another 1 hour
09. 100gm Oreo Double Stuff, crushed
Sprinkle with extra crushed cookies as topping and chill for at least 3 hours or until set. I did mine for one night
Here's the result:
Just out from fridge |
Can I offer you a slice of cheesecake? :) |
The cake is much better than my first recipe more creamy and Oreolicious summore... plus the process is not difficult... Happy trying! ^_^
Vera, cuba ko bikin pictorial tutorial...kalo bake-blind person like me, some of the baking terms are too alien to my understanding. But usually, through photos I could at least decipher the meaning. Hehehe...i would love to try this as it doesnt involve an oven :)
